Six New Books Coming This March
People often ask me how many books I read in a week. To be honest, it varies a lot. Sometimes it’s none, and other times, it can be up to seven (the latter a rare occurrence). While January was a great month—I flew through almost 8 books, including some pretty hefty titles between 400 and 800 pages, February felt like a slog.
Now, as we head into March and the weather starts warming up (hello, beach reading!), I’m excited for what this month has in store.
To kick things off, here are 6 new books coming out this month that I can’t wait to dive into.
The Dream Hotel by Laila Lalami
From Pulitzer Prize finalist Laila Lalami, The Dream Hotel is an enthralling tale set in the near future where even dreams are monitored. Sara is returning home from a conference when she is detained by agents from the Risk Assessment Administration who predict that she will soon commit a crime.
She is held for months in a facility with other accused women, and must prove her innocence while under constant surveillance. One day, a new resident arrives, disrupting the order of the facility, and propelling Sara toward a collision with those responsible for her loss of freedom.
“A gripping, Kafkaesque foray into an all-too-plausible future” (Jennifer Egan), The Dream Hotel is on sale March 4th.
The Tell by Amy Griffin
The only non-fiction title on this list (I’m surprising myself), this forthcoming memoir from Amy Griffin is one of my most anticipated reads of the year. With advanced praise from author and globally renowned trauma expert, Bessel van der Kolk, The Tell chronicles Griffin’s life from student athlete, through marriage and motherhood, to her thriving career. A life which from the outside, appears to be perfect.
When her daughter makes a statement one night, Griffin is forced to confront a past she has been running from, eventually leading her on a journey to psychedelic therapy, to the limits of the judicial system, and ultimately, back home, where her story began. On sale March 11th.
Hot Air by Marcy Dermansky
From Marcy Dermansky, author of Hurricane Girl, comes a sharp, irreverent comedy about money, love, and the messiness of human desires. When Joannie agrees to a dinner date with her neighbour Johnny, things quickly go awry when her childhood crush, a summer camp fling turned famous billionaire, crash lands his hot air balloon in Johnny’s swimming pool.
What follows is a wild weekend of romantic entanglements between Joannie, her date, her former-crush, and his wife Julia. “Unapologetically and pleasurably absurd” (Roxane Gay), Hot Air is on sale March 18th.
Universality by Natasha Brown
One of Literary Hub’s Most Anticipated Books of 2025, Universality by Natasha Brown is on sale March 4th. We follow an ambitious female journalist who sets out to uncover the truth after a young man is nearly bludgeoned to death at an illegal rave on a Yorkshire farm. She solves the crime, but her viral article raises more questions than it resolves.
In the same vein of the author’s gripping and unputdownable debut, Assembly, this will no doubt be a thrilling highlight of the month.
Luminous by Silvia Park
For fans of Klara and the Sun and We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves, Silvia Park’s highly anticipated speculative debut is set in a unified Korea and tells the story of three estranged siblings–two human, one robot.
Jun and Morgan were children when their brother Yoyo, an early prototype of a humanoid, disappeared suddenly. One day years later, an eleven-year-old makes an unexpected discovery in a pile of trash and its consequences lead the family back together in ways they could never have imagined. “Searching and masterful” (Sierra Greer), Luminous is on sale March 11th.
33 Place Brugmann by Alice Austen
From Alice Austen, “a beautiful and deeply engaging novel” (Ann Patchett), told from the singular point of view of the residents of a Beaux Arts apartment house in Belgium during World War II.
When Julian Raphaël and his family disappear on the eve of the Nazi occupation, leaving behind their priceless art collection, his best friend Charlotte and the other residents of 33 Place Brugmann are thrust into unexpected circumstances. In this do or die scenario, they are confronted with the cruel choice of submitting to the regime or risking their lives for one another. On sale March 11th.
